Oh, the dreaded hangover. While you never regret a good time, dealing with a throbbing headache, body aches and mental fatigue the next day is the worst. Ready to bounce back like a rockstar? Follow our step-by-step guide on how to ease hangover symptoms.
step 1
Drink Water
If you’re nursing a hangover, rehydration should be your top priority. Alcohol is notorious for dehydrating your body, so the faster you can replenish fluids, the better you’ll feel. Drink a glass of water before going to bed and again when you rise. Sip water or drinks with electrolytes throughout the day. Do NOT drink any alcohol.
step 2
Take a Pain Reliever
Looking for fast relief? We got just the thing: Alka-Seltzer® Hangover Relief. It starts working in as little as 15 minutes to relieve headache, body aches and mental fatigue. Just plop the effervescent tablets in water and fizz your hangover symptoms away. Use as directed.
step 3
Have a Snack
While it may be tempting to go out for some greasy diner food, it’s best to start with something that’ll be easier on your stomach. Have something bland like crackers or toast. Bouillon broth may also help.
step 4
Get a Little Activity
You can’t “sweat out” a hangover, but a little activity can help you feel better. If you feel up to it, try going for a walk or doing some yoga. Continue to drink water to stay hydrated.
step 5
Give it Time
Your body needs time to catch up and metabolize all the alcohol you consumed. So, give it a rest—literally—and go back to bed. Time is the only ‘cure’ for a hangover.
